Total Tau Antibodies

Tau is a microtubule‑associated protein essential for maintaining neuronal structure and axonal stability. Elevated concentrations of total Tau in CSF and plasma reflect neuroaxonal injury and are observed across a wide range of neurological and neurodegenerative conditions1,2. Total Tau is therefore considered a general marker of neuronal damage rather than a disease‑specific indicator and is used to support the assessment of neurodegeneration in clinical and research settings.

Our wide portfolio of antibodies, targeting epitopes across the tau protein, can be used for the development of immunoassays aimed at quantifying Tau and characterizing neuroaxonal injury.
