BACE-1 Antibodies

BACE‑1 is the β‑secretase enzyme responsible for the initial cleavage of the Amyloid Precursor Protein, forming the amyloid‑β (Aβ) peptides that accumulate in Alzheimer’s disease (AD). CSF BACE‑1 activity is elevated in AD and mild cognitive impairment (MCI), and higher levels predict progression from MCI to AD1. More recent work has confirmed increased CSF BACE‑1 concentrations and activity in AD and demonstrated correlations with Aβ isoforms and markers of neurodegeneration2.

The ADx401 and ADx402 monoclonal antibodies targeting BACE‑1 enable the development of immunoassays to quantify this enzyme and support research into amyloidogenic processing in AD.
