BD-Tau Antibodies

Brain‑derived Tau (BD‑Tau) is a Tau isoform specific to the central nervous system (CNS) that avoids cross‑reactivity with peripherally expressed “big Tau,” providing greater specificity than traditional blood‑based total Tau assays. Plasma BD‑Tau correlates strongly with CSF BD‑Tau and CSF total Tau and distinguishes Alzheimer’s disease (AD) from non‑AD neurodegenerative disorders with high accuracy1. Recent multicenter studies demonstrate that BD‑Tau increases in individuals with concurrent amyloid and neurodegeneration and may predict cognitive decline and atrophy2.

The ADx219 and ADx217 monoclonal antibody targeting BD‑Tau enables development of immunoassays focused on CNS‑derived Tau, providing a more specific signal of AD‑related neurodegeneration.
