Alzheimer's Disease Blood Testing in Clinical Practice: How to Order, Interpret, and Act on Results

2026/04/16 - 1:00 PM EST / 19:00 CET
1 hour

PRACTICAL APPLICATIONS | Complimentary 3-Part Live Webinar Series—Part 2:

This case-driven session translates Alzheimer’s disease (AD) blood test evidence into clinical action.

Using three representative vignettes (Positive, Indeterminate, Negative), a neurologist, primary care physician, and laboratory director will guide participants through ordering pathways, result interpretation and patient communication. Faculty will also address key biological and demographic confounders (e.g., comorbidities, co-pathology) as well as important pre-analytical factors that may impact result interpretation and patient care decisions. The session will outline a practical, stepwise framework for clinical implementation and provide example language for use in the clinic.

OBJECTIVES:

  • Integrate AD blood tests with a team approach across neurology, primary care and the laboratory.
  • Select the most appropriate ordering pathway based on patient presentation and access.
  • Recognize pre-analytical and clinical factors that may influence result interpretation.
  • Formulate clear, empathetic communications with patients and caregivers, incorporating shared decision-making around confirmatory testing and therapy discussions.
