CLEIA - ChemiLuminescent Enzyme Immunoassay
Test principle: Two-Step sandwich assay
Clinical backgroundTgAb
Anti-thyroglobulin antibodies (ATA), or frequently referred to as TgAb, are frequently detected in the serum of patients with Graves’ or Hashimoto’s disease, which are known as autoimmune thyroid diseases.
These antibodies are clinically useful indicators in the diagnosis and monitoring of these diseases.
TgAb is an autoantibody directed against thyroglobulin, and therefore can have impact on these levels.
The TgAb level in blood has been reported to rise with myasthenia gravis or lupoid hepatitis, in addition to Graves’ or Hashimoto’s disease.
